It is recommended to take a vehicle with good ground clearance, but it could be risky to take a vehicle very close to the waterfall.

The Pannikhoh Waterfall is located in the Maihar area and can be found on the west side of the Maa Sharda Temple. The path to reach the waterfall begins beside the Alhaa Temple. The route is a footpath that runs between Alha Talab and Alha Akhara, where the Pannikhoh Waterfall is situated. The scenery here is quite charming and many people visit the waterfall daily.

The journey to the waterfall is an adventurous one, as there is no road, only a clear path with ups and downs, a rocky passage that is 90 meters long, and a shallow river that must be crossed. It’s important to be cautious of wildlife while on this path. However, the peaceful forest and tranquil waterfall at the end make the journey well worth it. Once you reach, you can sit and relax in the serene surroundings.


Pannikhoh is an adventurous destination that offers a rough, yet picturesque route. The natural views are breathtaking and it is highly recommended for those who enjoy outdoor excursions. The waterfall at Pannikoh is particularly spectacular and our group of six had a thrilling adventure. We encountered various small wild animals such as crabs, boars, and different types of birds.

Additionally, there were numerous edible trees in the vicinity of the waterfall. There is also a hermitage located nearby where two Sadhus reside, who drink water from the mountain. The hike up the nearby mountain was a memorable experience, where we even touched the clouds. However, it’s important to be aware of bees and wild animals as they can be dangerous if disturbed.
